Yao Yao

Adviser: Dr. Chuanmin Hu

Yao came to USF in 2019 to continue her research career after receiving a Bachelor's degree in Hydrology and Water Resources from Southern University of Science and Technology in China. She is interested in using satellite remote sensing data to observe, monitor, and analyze marine processes. Her research focuses on utilizing multi-source remote sensing data to map harmful algal bloom (HAB) distributions and coverages, developing algorithms to detect and predict HABs, and using statistical models to analyze and understand HAB processes on West Florida Shelf.
