The University of South Florida is one of the best places to work in Florida, according to a new list of America’s top employers released this week by Forbes. Among the state’s 12 public universities, USF ranks No. 1.
“We have made a commitment to being a great place to work and take tremendous pride in this recognition as one of Florida’s top employers,” USF President Rhea Law said. “Every day, our faculty and staff make vital contributions that elevate the Tampa Bay region, our state and beyond. Whether it’s preparing our students for successful careers, discovering innovative solutions for complex problems or forming bold partnerships that impact our communities, our world-class team is why we are one of America’s leading research universities.”
To create the list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 160,000 employees working for companies with at least 500 people within the United States. Among the questions, survey participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to 10. More information on the methodology is available here.
Overall, USF ranks No. 30 in Florida when compared to employers across all industries.
“This recognition further energizes our ongoing efforts to recruit, reward and retain the nation’s most talented workforce in higher education, “said Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer Angie Sklenka. “Our collaborative culture is a direct result of our employees’ dedication to making USF a great place for every team member to work.”
USF employs approximately 16,000 people at campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota-Manatee and USF Health. More information on the benefits of working at USF, open positions and how to apply can be found here.
