Dear USF Community,
I am pleased to share that we have completed a successful site visit this week from our institutional accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. We received a very positive report from the SACSCOC committee, and the review team had no findings, which are key indicators as we look forward to a final vote on the reaffirmation of our accreditation by the Commission’s Board of Trustees in December.
This morning’s final meeting with the on-site committee affirmed USF’s efforts toward continuous quality improvement and was evidence that our institutional effectiveness practices are proactive and innovative. We also learned that SACSCOC will use our Quality Enhancement Plan, which is designed to increase the career readiness of undergraduates, as an exemplar for other institutions.
The preparations for this site visit were a significant undertaking, and I am deeply grateful to the more than 200 participants across One USF whose contributions enabled us to showcase the best of our university to the visiting committee. This site visit, a critical part of the process we engage in every 10 years to maintain our accreditation, would not have been possible without the many faculty, staff, administrators and students who worked tirelessly in the background to ensure all details and contingencies were taken into account.
