The University of South Florida is one of the country’s best large employers, according to a new list released by Forbes. USF ranks No. 1 among all public or private universities in Florida.

To create the list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 217,000 people working for companies with at least 1,000 employees within the United States. Companies with more than 5,000 employees were deemed large employers. Survey participants were asked to rate their employer on various criteria, including salary, work, environment, training programs and advancement opportunities. Learn more about the methodology.
Overall, USF ranks No. 4 in Florida when compared to large employers across all industries.

USF employs approximately 16,000 people at campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota-Manatee and USF Health.
