USF student veteran earns national recognition from the Pat Tillman Foundation
University of South Florida psychology student and U.S. Army veteran Josh “JB” Burnes is being honored with a 2021 Tillman Scholarship awarded by the Pat Tillman Foundation. Burnes is among a prestigious group of 60 U.S. service members, veterans and military spouses to earn this recognition. He is the only student from a Florida university in this year’s class.

Rolle selected as new University of South Florida College of Education dean
The University of South Florida announced the appointment of R. Anthony Rolle, an experienced leader and former professor and department chair at USF, as the new dean of the College of Education. Rolle returns to USF after serving as dean of the Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Education and Professional Studies at the University of Rhode Island for the past four years.

Will Weatherford elected new USF Board of Trustees chair
Will Weatherford will serve as the new chair of the University of South Florida Board of Trustees, following his unanimous selection by board members during a meeting held today. In the same meeting, Mike Griffin was unanimously chosen to serve as the board’s new vice chair. Both the chair and vice chair terms are for two years and take effect July 1, 2021.
