More than 50 children died in hot cars in 2018, making it the deadliest year on record. Many of the cases involve parents who unknowingly left a child behind, often for an entire day. USF Psychology Professor David Diamond has studied this phenomenon for over a decade and has served as an expert witness on many high-profile cases.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation Matches $15,000 Gift for the USF Black Leadership Network
Jerry Bell, former tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his wife, Ruth, a USF alumna, were among the founding members of the Black Leadership Network at USF. The Bells contributed $15,000 earlier this month to grow the BLN Bell Family scholarship.

Famed Author Judy Blume Contributes to USF Creative Writing Publication
A short passage from acclaimed author Judy Blume is in the 2019 issue of Saw Palm, a USF student-run literary and art journal. The submission was prompted by a postcard sent from USF library’s digital postcard collection, which featured a waterside scene of young women fishing.
