Former National Security Agency Director to Lead Cyber Florida at USF

The University of South Florida appoints J. Michael (Mike) McConnell, retired U.S. Navy vice admiral and former director of the National Security Agency (NSA), as executive director of Cyber Florida. McConnell brings an extensive military and intelligence background that will help further Cyber Florida’s mission of positioning the state as a national leader in cybersecurity.

After 20 years in the U.S. Navy, Akil King was ready to start writing his next chapter. So, he enrolled at USF to study Africana Studies (his second master's degree) and has never looked back.
