USF Health earns national recognition for 3D-printed nasal swab used in pandemic

USF has been awarded the Patents for Humanity award by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its creation of the 3D-printed nasal swab, created in the early part of the pandemic as a solution to the disrupted commercial production of standard swabs that were critical in diagnostic testing for COVID-19.
