USF team gets ready to race in the ‘World’s Toughest Row’ across the Atlantic
Following 2 1/2 years of intense training and extensive preparation, a team led by a USF biology professor and two USF alums will row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. They push off Dec. 12 from Spain’s Canary Islands and will spend about one month at sea, rowing to English Harbour in Antigua and Barbuda.

By combining efforts to replace water pumps and educate city technicians, USF researchers helped decrease the blood lead levels of 87 percent of the children tested during their study.

After spending 10 years in the military, Air Force fighter pilots Captain Zach Eastman and Major Liz Eastman are now in their second to last semester at USF. The married couple is currently serving as flight instructors all while working to complete their online Master of Business Administration.

The University of South Florida was named the official Florida state affiliate for Invention Convention Worldwide, a competition from The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. In a significant move to address societal aging and the unique needs and contributions of older adults, the University of South Florida has joined the international Age-Friendly University Global Network.
