A nose for COVID-19: USF researchers develop rapid test technology with virus-sniffing biosensor

Dr. Salvatore D. Morgera, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida, currently leads a team of researchers working to develop an "electronic nose" capable of smelling biochemicals present in the novel coronavirus. The USF lab-developed device, dubbed "Bull Nose" was recently selected from a field of over 4,000 competitors as a semi-finalist in the XPRIZE Rapid COVID Testing competition (83 Degrees).
