Our Work

National Conference

Student Success leadership at the University of South Florida have made the difficult decision to not move forward with the National Student Success Conference planned for February 2023.

We are very proud of the contributions that the conference made to the elevation of student success topics nationally since 2018, and we look forward to continuing the dialog.

For those who supported the conference in its first three years, as well as the two speakers series held during the pandemic, we thank you for your interest in learning and sharing best practices for student success.

USF will continue to share our own work with predictive analytics, academic advocacy in a care management model, and other initiatives by leveraging other resources or upon request. Please contact Renee Rotondo with your request.

History

In March 2018, USF Student Success, in collaboration with the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities, hosted the first of three National Student Success Conference: Innovators & Innovations in Higher Education

With attendance by nearly 500 higher education innovators, thought leaders and practitioners from across the nation, the March 2020 conference offered multiple insightful plenary sessions and dozens of workshops in an intimate forum, allowing attendees to learn about effective practices and make valuable connections to further their own institution’s student success initiatives.

Student success trends, challenges and best practices were explored, including:

  • Admissions
  • Financial aid
  • Advising
  • Student affairs
  • Health and wellness
  • Housing and residential education
  • Undergraduate education
  • Institutional research
  • Career readiness
  • Predictive analytics
  • Information technology
  • and more

During the pandemic, the university continued its work to advance the national student success conversation by hosting a spring semester Speakers Series in both 2021 and 2022, featuring a mix of guest speakers and panelists from universities and organizations.
