I joined the Office of Academic Advocacy (OAA) in April of 2024. Born and raised in
Ann Arbor, Michigan, my passion has always been fueled by playing a role in fostering
holistic growth and development in those that I serve. I aim to help others prepare
for and navigate through challenges along their journey. I believe that a college
experience can yield different results and outcomes for everyone, but it consistently
serves as an opportunity for us to grow in a variety of ways and discover how we show
up as our “authentic self.”
In 2014 I graduated from the University of Michigan after transferring from Western
Michigan University at the end of my sophomore year. During my time at the University
of Michigan, I had the privilege of working in the Academic Success Program assisting
with student-athlete academic support. This would carry over to my pursuit of a Master’s
in Educational Leadership degree at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where
I also began a Graduate Assistantship within their Academic Services for Student-Athletes
department. I was eventually hired on full-time prior to graduating, during which
I became a Learning Specialist and Academic Advisor for football and several Olympic
sports. Over the next 5 years at both UCF and the University of Michigan, I served
as an “academic coach” in the areas of registration/schedule planning, major and degree
mapping, student advocacy, tutoring and mentor support, as well as grade tracking
on a weekly basis. After a brief stint in the nonprofit workforce development industry,
I look forward to enhancing the student experience and meeting key institutional goals!
