Academic Advising in Undergraduate Studies
Not sure what to major in? The Exploratory Curriculum gives first time in college students straight from high school with less than 36
college credits a chance to explore different
careers before officially declaring a major. To get you started, the Creative Thinking
General Education course, IDS 2378, helps you examine social problems through the
lenses of the major disciplinary domains, preparing you to engage in collaborative,
interdisciplinary problem solving and helping you determine what major might be right
for you.
Do you have 60 or more credits and been out of college for more than 3 years? Academic Programs can work with you to see if you qualify for a Bachelor of General Studies or Bachelor of Science in Applied Science degree.
College Undergraduate Academic Advising
Have a question regarding your degree plan? Each college department has undergraduate advisors to help guide you through your Plans of Study (Eight Semester Plans) and serves as a resource to obtain your degree. There are also localized advising services for students on St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee campuses. Plan on meeting with your advisor once a semester.
