Brielle Iacobino, Class of 2020
May 7, 2019
Brielle Iacobino is a 4th year student studying Chemical Engineering at USF. She studied abroad in Costa Rica during the summer of 2017, where she immersed herself in the local culture through her home stay and weekend travels around the country. She was able to visit two volcanoes, a coffee plantation, multiple waterfalls, and both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.
Brielle explains that her summer abroad helped lighten her course load for the following fall semester, but more importantly helped her grow as a person, “Going abroad has afforded me the opportunity to grow as an individual and as a young professional. I have become more adaptable in situations while also overcoming a language barrier at the same time.”
Brielle was recently awarded the Student Employee of the Year Award for her work as a Student Recruiter in the Education Abroad Gateway Office. This summer, Brielle will be working in South Deerfield, MA, as a Product Engineer Intern at Newell Brands in their Home Fragrance Division.
For anyone considering studying abroad, Brielle says, “Do it! This is a once in a lifetime experience every student should take advantage of. If this is something you want to do, you will do anything you possibly can to make it happen.”
