USF Global Spotlight
Gabriela Rigaud
Gabriela Rigaud, Class of 2018
August 30, 2018
Gabriela studied abroad in Florence, Italy in the summer of 2016. She participated in a 6-week program that incorporated business, culinary and Italian culture courses. Each one had field trips that connected the class material with real world Italian art, history and cultural experiences. “After traveling I’ve gained confidence, was able to adapt to different cultures and ways of life, and have gained a new perspective.” Gabriela was fortunate to receive a study abroad scholarship from the Global Citizens Program (GCP) that almost fully covered the costs. After the trip, she served as a GCP Liaison, mentoring current study abroad students and recruiting future participants.
Gabriela plans to continue her studies at USF by pursuing a master’s degree in Digital Marketing and Brand Management starting this fall. Simultaneously, she will be working at the USF Honors College as a marketing and communications graduate assistant. Through her travels, she gained a passion for marketing and the fashion industry and, with her degree, she hopes to work for a fashion or beauty brand.
