Javaris graduated with a B.S. in Public Health in 2015, and a B.A. in International Studies the following year. During his time at USF, Javaris was deeply involved on campus as well as in the community. He participated in several groups including Circle K International, Enactus, and Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. His experience enabled him to grow in all aspects of life and he believes it will be a vital asset to his success. “My time at USF continues to fuel my quest for knowledge, honor and service. I’m forever grateful to be part of such a rich legacy.”
Javaris is currently living abroad in Guyana, South America while serving in the Peace Corps as a Community Health Volunteer. The program focuses on advancing public health programs of adolescent health, nutrition, youth development, health education curriculum, and girls empowerment. Javaris specializes in grades 6-9 at primary and secondary school levels, and community health outreach and enrichment in conjunction with a local NGO and the Maternal and Child Health department. “Although sometimes challenging, serving in the Peace Corps is a continuous adventure.” With less than a year left of his program, Javaris looks forward to where it will lead.
