Religious Studies welcomed Dr. Steven M. Vose for an overview of historical narratives on Jain-Muslim relations in India
The Department of Religious Studies welcomed Dr. Steven M. Vose, an assistant professor in the Department of History and holder of the Bhagwan Suparshvanatha Professorship in Jain Studies at the University of Colorado-Denver, for a discussion on “Just as When Hindus Ruled: The Sultans of Delhi in Jain History and Memory.”

Theravada Buddhist monk and Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, Rev. Dr. Kapugollawe Anandakiththi, will be the guest speaker during an event that will highlight Sigiriya – a 5th-century plateau-top palace situated in Sri Lanka’s serpentine geological zone.

Dr. Adib Farhadi releases fifth volume in The Great Power Competition Book Series: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine and Implication for the Central Region
Dr. Farhadi’s latest edited volume addresses national security threats and strategic opportunities for the United States and its allies in the Middle East and Central Asia following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Congratulations to Will Schanbacher and the UFSG!
Project Director Will Schanbacher along with other USF faculty was awarded an NEH Humanities Connections grant titled, "Urban Food Sovereignty in the Humanities and Beyond" ($34,810), for a one-year project for collaboration between faculty, students, and community members on the design of new courses and experiential learning activities related to food studies.

Dr. Potts received in 2023 a grant from the Templeton Foundation and Yale Center for Faith and Culture to promote the 'Life Worth Living' pedagogy and coursework to advance pluralistic undergraduate education and overall student flourishing.
