Utilities Department Holds Virtual RFP Tour

Hari Patel streams a tour of the Facilities Management Chiller Plant while answer questions on Microsoft Teams.

Hari Patel streams the walkthrough of a CPT project site for vendors over Microsoft Teams.

A request for proposal (RFP) is a business document that announces and provides details about a project, as well as solicits bids from contractors who will help complete the project. The typical process goes through four stages: project planning, drafting the RFP, issuing the RFP, and reviewing proposals and awarding the contract.

Currently, Facilities Management is working on a Guaranteed Energy Savings Project (GEPC), or Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC), for the Central Plant (CPT). There was an RFP issued for it and typically a walkthrough of the project site is conducted, but due to COVID-19 the crowd had to be small.

The solution to this was a virtual walkthrough of the project site, hosted by Don Crosby, Chris Fleishcher, and Hari Patel. While it was different than a typical walkthrough, this innovative solution allowed participating vendors to prepare accurate proposals for the project and maintain their health and safety.
