Submission Guidelines
This conference is designed to explore the role of genre in ancient Greek writing in an interdisciplinary setting. Contributions on the use of genre in Greek literature, philosophy, and history, as well as on the views of Greek thinkers on issues related to genre, are welcome. Papers may pertain (but are not limited) to the following:
- Different genres used by a single Greek author.
- Comparisons between different authors or disciplines utilizing either the same genre or different ones.
- The relation between genre and subject-matter.
- The relation between genre and intended audience.
- Comparability of, and mutual influence between, genres used by ancient Greek and non-Greek writers.
Please send an anonymized abstract of 200-250 words to Mor Segev by January 5, 2025.
Presentations are expected to be approximately 45 minutes long (30 minutes for the paper itself, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A).
