Bio

I was born and raised in rural northern Ohio before going to school in Cincinnati where I developed my love of geography. In addition to geography, I am a big fan of exploring cities, craft beer, tennis, and traveling.

Research

I am a broadly trained urban geographer with interests in immigrant settlement patterns, neighborhood change, neighborhood identity formation, and gentrification. My latest research examines how refugees from Burma use different social networks to gather information about housing opportunities and livelihood outcomes in the face of neighborhood change.
