Professional Bio
I am Geographer and Urban Planner who is passionate about issues related to housing,
transportation and economic development. I completed my Masters in Geography in 2018
at USF and am currently pursuing my PhD part time, with a focus on Florida's "Live
Local Act" and how it is reshaping geo-economic space, particularly with regard to
industrial lands, in Florida. My particular geographic area of study, however, is
within Pinellas County. Pinellas County is the 3rd largest manufacturing county in
the state and is the most densely urbanized county in Florida making land a primary
resource, and target, for residential speculation.
I work professionally as an urban planner for the Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization and Planning Council known as Forward Pinellas, and after the passage of the landmark Live Local Act decided to pursue my PhD on this particular, albeit peculiar, legislation.
In my free time you can find me at heavy metal concerts or skateparks.
