City of North Miami Library Tot Lot Playground Named After Distinguished Alumna Lucia Martinez Gonzalez
The City of North Miami has named a playground next to the North Miami Public Library after Lucia Martinez Gonzalez, a School of Information distinguished aluma who graduated from the MA in Library and Information Science in 1988.

USF plans to launch college focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and computing
The goal of creating the new college positions the Tampa Bay region and state of Florida as a national leader in the rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and computing. USF is the first university in Florida and among the first in the nation to announce plans to create a college dedicated to AI and cybersecurity.

Dr. Loni Hagen Selected as a 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Scholar
Dr. Hagen was recently awarded a Fulbright U.S. scholar for 2024-2025 for Japan to conduct research on human supervision of artificial intelligence.

A Remarka-Bull Heritage Month: Black History Resources & Collections
In 1976 President Gerald Ford officially recognized February as Black History Month. Ford urged the public to, “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” In keeping with that tradition, as information science students, here is a list of some of the amazing resources and collections the USF Library offers that center on Black histories and stories!
