HEALTH INFORMATICS MINOR

The minor in health informatics will provide students with foundational competencies in health informatics.  Areas of emphasis include the design, development, adoption, implementation, and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, public health, consumer health, and health information management.  Health information technology standards, terminology, policy, privacy and security are also covered in this minor program.

Students will be required to take 2 core courses to cover the fundamentals of health informatics.  The students will then be able to tailor their minor towards there career path by selecting two electives.

CAS Minor Academic Residency Requirement: Fifty percent (50%) of the minor must be taken at USF
