Admission Requirements
- Submit the online Graduate Admission Application for the University of South Florida. You will be asked to pay a one-time application
fee of $30.00 by credit card (Master Card, Visa, or Discover) or e-check.

Submission of GRE scores is not required but is strongly recommended for international applicants.

- Official transcripts that include your final GPA (minimum GPA is 3.0). International students must have
their transcripts independently evaluated for their application to be considered for
admission.
- It is the applicant's responsibility to have transcripts translated and evaluated before submitting them as part of the graduate application packet. Refer to the Graduate Admissions' website for a list of evaluation services.
- A statement of purpose stating your intended field of research and professional goals. In your essay, please
indicate:
- Your specific research interests (not necessary for non-thesis M.S. degrees)
- List 2-3 MBS faculty members who you would be interested in working with for your graduate research (not necessary for non-thesis M.S. degrees).
- At least three letters of recommendation from professionals who can speak to your potential success in graduate school. These can be submitted via electronic submission by way of the online application portal and NOT via direct mailing in a sealed envelope. The email requests for a letter of recommendation can be initiated via online admission portal or uploaded. Please do not send hardcopy sealed letters directly to the department of Molecular Biosciences.

International students only from non-English speaking countries: Please submit an assessment of English proficiency. Minimum test scores required to demonstrate proficiency are:
IELTS - 6.5
PTE-A - 53
TOEFL (iBT - 79; PBT - 550)
GRE Verbal - 153
Duolingo - 110To be immediately eligible for a teaching assistantship, a minimum score of 26 on the spoken portion of the Test of English as a Foreign Language, Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) or 160 on the spoken portion of the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
If the student does not meet those speaking proficiency scores, they can be registered for the ITA Language Assessment class in their first semester upon admission.To be eligible to be registered for the assessment, students must have the appropriate TOEFL iBT, TOEIC, IELTS, or Duolingo Speaking Subtest score:
TOEFL iBT Speaking subscore of 20 - 25
TOEIC Speaking subscore of 110 -150
IELTS Speaking subscore of 6.5 or higher

Applications received by the priority deadline will receive maximum consideration for admission. Applications received after the priority deadline, but by the final university deadline, are considered on a space available basis.
