Bio
Dr. Valentina Iturriaga received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida International University in Miami, FL. In 2020, she completed her Master of Science and Education Specialist degrees with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling at Florida State University. Valentina continued her graduate education at Florida State University, earning a Doctoral degree in Human Sciences with a concentration in Human Development and Family Science. Her research expertise involves risks and protective factors for Latine young adult and adolescent socio-emotional adjustment. Specifically, during her graduate career, Dr. Iturriaga examined stressors (e.g., acculturative stress, financial strain), cultural strengths (e.g., ethnic-racial identity development, ethnic-racial socialization), and the family system.
