In August 2020 VP Paul Dosal of the Office of Student Success (OSS) and Dr. Fenda Akiwumi, Director of IBL signed an MOU on Student Success. We will collaborate to promote our common interest in delivering programs and practices designed to support Black student retention, academic success and creativity including cultural heritage enrichment, outreach programs, community-engaged research and service opportunities, and education about addressing racism, anti-bias practices, and diversity. We will jointly provide resources to strengthen the Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) Mentoring Program and coordinate and encourage faculty and staff affiliated with the Institute on Black Life to support the USF goal of student success by meeting with students, holding workshops, and providing informal mentorship to students. MSC 3301 is a designated OSS-IBL student space for activities that will be managed by the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA).
