USF-USSOCOM Forum on Russian, European and US Security (REUSS)
Launched in 2020, the Forum on Russian, European and US Security (REUSS Forum) is a collaboration between the Institute for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies (IREES) and the J3-International Division at US Special Operations Command in Tampa.
The J3-International Division hosts Special Operations representatives from 26 nations. Its mission is to enhance interoperability, strengthen alliances, and advance partnerships across the global Special Operations Forces enterprise consistent with the US National Defense Strategy and USSOCOM Commander priorities.
The REUSS Forum brings together an international group of academic and military professionals for a transatlantic conversation on timely and critical issues in global security. J3-International Division representatives from various countries (including Finland, Sweden, Poland, Romania, Chile, Lithuania, and Latvia) have shared their knowledge and expertise with students on a range of security issues that are relevant to their countries.
In partnership with IREES, representatives from the J3-International Division have also collaborated on events that have brought prominent European experts in global security to the USF campus. Guests have included Lithuania's Vice Minister of Defense, an officer in the Finnish Defense Forces, and the former Polish Defense Attaché in Egypt.
