Theatre Arts
The theatre arts concentration provides flexibility for the student interested in
many aspects of theatre. Develop your own program of study from an expansive range
of courses. The program provides academic study and hands-on learning in performance,
costume/set/lighting design, technical theatre, playwriting, stage management, directing,
theatre history, literature and criticism, and more.
From musical comedy to contemporary drama; from Shakespeare to the premiere of a new
play, students explore the full range of theatrical offerings in a supportive environment.
The theatre arts student assembles a broad base of knowledge that prepares you to
work in a vast range of fields. Coursework in the program develops your creative,
writing, teamwork, initiative, reading, speaking, and research skills. Students also
gain practical and professional experience in production and performance through various
USF Theatre mainstage productions every year.
