Student Events
The talented students at the USF School of Theatre & Dance prepare and present exciting productions to the community every year.
5K Tutu Run
The 5K Tutu Run is dedicated to raising money for the School of Theatre & Dance, as
well as raising awareness for the general underfunding of the arts. Participants are
encouraged to wear tutus as they run. Organized by the School of Theatre & Dance,
the student organizations, USF Foundation, and the Dance Alumni Society.
Dance BFA Showings
Senior dance performance majors create solo and group works for their thesis projects.
The technical excellence, artistry, and intellectual and creative growth hey have
developed throughout their undergraduate training culminate in this exciting end-of-the-semester
event. The school invites you to come support the emerging dancers and choreographers!
Emerging Student Playwrights Staged Readings
Theatre students in the Lily Dishman Playwriting Program present their work in an evening of staged readings. Guided by the mentorship of
theatre faculty, students develop and refine their original plays. Come see what kinds
of stories and characters they have created.
Student Dance Concert
DanceUSF students showcase their own original choreographic work in this once-a-year
concert. Featuring ballet to modern dance to everything in between, this eclectic
concert provides an evening sure to captivate you with talent and creativity. Funded
and organized by the Student Dance Production Board, all profits from the Student Dance Concert are donated to the annual Michelle Vargas
Scholarship Fund.
Student Theatre Productions
Presented by the Student Theatre Production Board, these shows are fully student-produced—from directing and acting, to designing and
writing. The organization also holds staged readings. In Fall 2018 they collaborated
with ASL Bulls to present a performance featuring actors who sign to make it inclusive
to Deaf audiences.
