The program curriculum is based on Florida’s state licensure requirements, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Code of Ethics, the Marriage and Family Therapy core competences, the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) National licensure examination domains, and the national accreditation standards from the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).

Outcome-Based Education Framework

Eligibility for Accreditation

The Marriage and Family Therapy program curriculum is designed with an outcome-based education framework at the core. This allows a focus on the assessment of program outcomes specifically around whether the program goals and learning outcomes are being met based on specific measures of student competency. The table below identifies the program mission, goals, and student learning outcomes connected to COAMFTE Developmental Competency Components. View pdf of table.
