CABH Master's Student Receives Children's Mental Health Network Scholarship
Congratulations to Heather Groves, master's student in the Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Program, on receiving a Children's Mental Health Network (CMHN) Scholarship for 2021. As part of the scholarship, Heather will complete six credit hours of field experience with CMHN conducting program evaluation research.
"There are a number of agencies across the country that assist transition aged youth who are experiencing homelessness," said Heather. "My research over the next two semesters will focus on what is being done to help transition aged youth experiencing homelessness with their behavioral health needs."
Heather currently works for the Florida Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, she helps individuals with physical and mental disabilities prepare for employment, maintain employment, and enhance their independence.
"Heather's diligence has been her hallmark as she has worked to complete her courses in the CABH program," said Research Assistant Professor and CABH Program Director Debra Mowery. "She has taken that hard work mind set as she completes her field experience with the Children's Mental Health Network. This award is well deserved."
Heather will continue her studies at USF in the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program as an RSA Scholar. Congratulations Heather!
