H.O.P.E.

  First Annual H.O.P.E. Employment Clinic

July 28th, 2016

     August 16th-19th, 2016

  Late September, Early October 2016

The first H.O.P.E. Clinic was held in April 2016 over a two-day period. This clinic focused on providing health screenings, information, and resources to members of our community with lived experience with homelessness. Initially, the intention was to include employment-related services within this first clinic, however as planning conversations took place it became apparent that a separate employment clinic was called for. This was the beginning of the planning of the First Annual H.O.P.E. Employment Clinic. The intention is for this to be an annual event, which will complement the H.O.P.E. Health Fair that will be held annually/biannually to benefit members of the homefree community in our region. The next H.O.P.E. Health Fair is in planning and scheduled to take place on September 28th and 29th, 2016.

The H.O.P.E. Employment Clinic is a three-phased clinic which will involve:

  1. assessment, referral and information giving,
  2. employment preparation activities aligned with the employment Stages of Change model (WorkFirst Groups), and
  3. a set of two job fairs (one held for the broader community and organized by Workforce Solutions Boderplex, and the other organized specifically for members of the homefree community by the H.O.P.E. Employment Clinic Planning Committee.
