CBCS faculty receive USF Sarasota-Manatee campus Interdisciplinary Research Grants

College of Behavioral and Community Sciences

USF Sarasota Manatee campus Interdisciplinary Research Grants support projects that address complex problems, specifically those that benefit from analysis from the perspectives of multiple scholarly disciplines. This internal award is poised to support convergent research, leverage lab facilities and is well-suited to support the endeavors of faculty with diverse backgrounds and project interests. PIs who accept an Interdisciplinary Research Grant (IRG) award commit to the pursuit of external funding for the collaborative effort within 18 months of receiving IRG funding.

Ráchael Powers, PhD (Criminology), Murat Haner, PhD (Criminology) and Melissa Sloan, PhD (Interdisciplinary Social Sciences) received funding for their project titled "Recognizing Domestic Terrorism: Identifying Strategies to Raise Public Awareness".

Jessica Grosholz, PhD (Criminology), Sandra Stone, PhD (Criminology), and Sandra Fogel, PhD, ACSW, LCSW (Social Work) received funding for their project titled "Understanding the Reentry Experiences of Older Formerly Incarcerated Individuals".
