Dr. Goldstein receives Kawana Award

Dr. Howard Goldstein

Dr. Howard Goldstein is a professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Associate Dean for Research in CBCS.

Howard Goldstein, PhD, has been named the winner of the 2021 Kawana Award for Lifetime Achievement in Publications by the ASHA Journals Board. The award, named in memory of Alfred K. Kawana, former director of ASHA publications, recognizes a sustained history of exemplary publications by a scholar whose journal contributions span at least 10 years and are meritorious in their educational, scientific, or clinical value.

Dr. Goldstein's outstanding record of scholarship over a period of decades was cited as a key factor in the Board's consideration of his nomination. They recognized his contributions to the ASHA journals along with his seminal publications in a variety of other journals. The sustained, systematic impact of his work was admired universally by the members of the board.
