Social Work Society Student Organization

The Social Work Society (SWS), housed within the USF School of Social Work, is a student organization open to all undergraduate and graduate students at the university. The primary aims of the society are twofold: First, to promote positive socialization among students interested in issues of social justice and positive social change; and, second, to raise funds and engage in service activities that address human needs and social justice concerns both on campus and within communities locally, regionally, and nationally.

Dr. Jamie Clem serves as the faculty advisor to the SWS student organization. Each academic year student officers are elected from among the membership to lead the organization. Elected positions include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at Arms. The SWS also has numerous volunteer opportunities available for students to serve on committees to plan special events and activities, fundraisers, recruit new members, and promote outreach both on and off the USF campus.

Students interested in joining the Social Work Society can sign up using Student Self-Service. Students may also visit the USF Center for Student Involvement website <(This link opens in a new window and click on the link to search student organizations.) Questions or additional information about the SWS should be sent to Dr. Jamie Clem via email.
