Manisha Joshi, PhD MSPH MSW - Director
Dr. Manisha Joshi, Associate Professor of Social Work in College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at the University of South Florida (USF), has a PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Social Policy & Practice, MS in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an MSW from the University of Delhi, India. She holds a joint appointment in the College of Public Health at USF. Her interests include gender-based violence around the globe, intimate partner violence experiences of immigrant women in the U.S., violence prevention programs, strategies, and policies.
Guitele J. Rahill, PhD LCSW - Associate Director
Dr. Guitele Rahill is Associate Professor of Social Work in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at the University of South Florida (USF), Senior Research Scientist in the USF College of Public Health Harrell Center, and Co-founder of SWIRL. She received her Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Florida International University, where she was a Presidential Fellow. Her interests include syndemic interactions among traditional norms, health beliefs and practices, biopsychosocial conditions, geographical disasters, and structural violence, as they affect violence, psychological trauma, family system disruption.
