Fall 2024 Sessions
The CITL First Fridays Workshop Series will feature three themed topics during the Fall 2024 semester: Teaching and Learning with AI, Inclusive Classroom Conversations, and Navigating the Undergraduate Journey: Insights for Educators.

Resilient Teaching with AI: Tools and Techniques for Challenging Times

Join in to explore practical ways to leverage generative AI tools to maintain teaching
effectiveness while reducing workload during challenging times. Learn strategies for
streamlining course adaptations, managing communications, and supporting students
through disruptions.
Weathering the Storm: Coping with Burnout in a Disrupted Semester
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
After almost a month of uncertainty and having to adjust courses as a result of two
hurricanes impacting our area, it's understandable if some faculty are feeling burnout
or exhaustion start to creep in. Join us in this session as we discuss these issues
and explore strategies for coping now and building resilience as we look toward future
semesters.
Moving Forward at the End of Term
12:30 - 1:30 pm
This semester has been difficult for faculty and students alike. Amidst the upheaval
of the storm, one concern is how we can best support our students as we near the end
of the semester. We will discuss a range of topics relevant to the end of the semester,
including:
- academic integrity,
- conduct concerns,
- having difficult conversations,
- recognizing when students are struggling,
- making appropriate referrals, and
- helping students holistically.
