Teaching Students How to Learn with Metacognition
9:30 - 10:30 am
We often hear our students say that they spent hours studying but still felt unprepared
for an exam, or that they understood the concept in class, but struggled to make sense
of it on their own. What can we do? In this session, we'll explore how incorporating
metacognitive skills into your teaching can help students develop their confidence
as learners.
Fostering Belonging in the Classroom
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Belonging is becoming a buzzword in higher education. How can we move beyond that
to create an authentic experience for our students in the classroom? Join Clara Buie,
Assistant Vice President of Student Success, to discuss practical strategies to move
towards fostering a meaningful community.
