Dear USF Community,
I want to thank you for your continued vigilance as we work together to keep our USF community safe in the wake of the now yearlong COVID-19 pandemic.
As the University of South Florida continues to closely monitor public health data and to prioritize the health and safety of our university community, I’m writing to provide an update on our path for a return to activity on our campuses.
In support of USF’s commitment to student access for success and in response to increasingly encouraging data, USF is preparing for a full return to pre-COVID in-person course delivery, on-campus student activities and a robust on-campus residential community beginning fall 2021. In advance, we will significantly increase the number of in-person classes and student activities offered on our campuses in summer 2021, especially during Session B (to begin 28 June). On-campus housing will remain open and available for summer 2021.
In the coming weeks and months, we will actively work with employees and employee stakeholder groups to develop a flexible framework to safely return to in-person duties and responsibilities.
At all times, our path forward will continue to be guided by the scientific advice of our public health and infectious disease experts at USF, along with government agencies, and we will be ready to adjust to changing conditions if needed.
As we have done for many years, we will deliver an array of quality online classes for students who find them more convenient and to ensure access and progress to timely graduation.
As we navigate these next important steps, I wish to express my thanks for the many ways that USF continues to demonstrate a commitment to community. I’m grateful for your hard work and dedication.
Please continue to visit our coronavirus website for the latest updates and FAQ.
Sincerely,
President Currall
