Research

Thrusts

The Center focus on the following four thrusts:

Biomarkers for Aging and Chronic Disease

This Thrust will advance the discovery and validation of biomarkers to assess, monitor, and predict health trajectories in aging and chronic disease. By integrating physiological measures, behavioral data, psychological insights, biochemical markers, sensor fusion, and data-driven models, we aim to enable early detection, track disease progression, and enhance patient awareness, paving the way for personalized health management.

Independent Living Technologies

This Thrust will develop cutting-edge technologies to empower older adults to live independently and resiliently. Leveraging assistive sensing, AI, and robotics, we will create solutions tailored to daily tasks, mobility, and disaster preparedness, positioning the Center as a leader in enhancing older adults’ autonomy and quality of life.

Health Enhancement Interventions

This Thrust will pioneer biomedical and technological innovations for early risk detection, life-style invention, and injury prevention. Through AI, robotics, VR/AR, and precision nutrition tools, we will design integrated healthcare solutions to improve physical health outcomes, delivering impactful interventions for aging populations.

Empowering Caregivers with Novel Technologies

This Thrust will revolutionize caregiving by developing AI, robotics, wearables, and VR/AR/HCI solutions to boost efficiency and reduce stress. We will create assistive devices to lighten caregiver workloads, streamline tasks, and provide advanced training platforms, enhancing care quality and supporting caregiver well-being.
