Biography
Dr. Raiyan Abdul Baten received his PhD and MS degrees from the University of Rochester and his BSc from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He was a research intern at Snap Inc. (Computational Social Science group) and Samsung R&D Institute (Solution Lab).
Research Interests
Dr. Baten works in the research areas of human-computer interaction, affective computing, computational social science, network science, machine learning/deep learning, natural language processing, and graph data mining. He directs the USF Computational Social Science and AI (CSSAI) Lab.
His research focuses on building human-centered technology to enhance people’s soft skills and collective performance outcomes in online interaction platforms.

Social Media Mining, Human-Computer Interaction, Affective Computing, Ethical Issues and Professional Conduct, Data Mining, Statistical Network Analysis, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
