CSE Ph.D. student MD Taufeeq Uddin won a PepsiCo ML Challenge and earned a research internship for summer 2021. MD Taufeeq Uddin competed against almost 200 contestants, from the likes of Harvard, through multiple rounds of rigorous interviews with senior scientists at Pepsi.
Contestants were tasked with creating a model that predicts the quality of a product based on the growing location, soil type, fertilizer, and other factors associated with the growth of the crop used.
