A USF-Led Team Awarded NSF Convergence Accelerator Grant To Link The Green Economy To The Blue Economy At The Coast
A USF-led team headed by Maya Trotz, environmental engineering professor and principal investigator (PI), has been awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a project titled: "Linking the Green Economy to the Blue Economy at the Coast." The phase I grant awards up to $750,000 to develop the concept, identify team members, and participate in the innovation curriculum coordinated by the NSF.

The Center for Urban Transportation Research at USF is part of a team of surface transportation research organizations led by ENSCO, Inc. that was recently awarded a $571 million USD contract by the Federal Railroad Administration to provide research, testing, engineering, and training services at the Transportation Technology Center.

Since 2005, the Sloan Minority PhD Initiative has provided $4M to maintain USF’s national leadership in fostering greater diversity in STEM doctoral programs and to support 150 underrepresented students within participating departments in the Colleges of Engineering, Arts and Sciences, and Marine Science. Along with eight NSF Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP) Bridge to the Doctorate Activity grants in the same period, USF has received $12M to reimagine the STEM PhD workforce.
