for technical seminars, interactions with faculty champions, and informal meetings
with Sloan scholars

Faculty workshops designed to enhance student retention and promote well-being.
Institute on Teaching and Mentoring
Scholars and faculty attend the Annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring, the largest
gathering of minority PhD students in the country. The goal of the Institute is to
provide a safe environment for Sloan scholars to, build community, enrich their research
and teaching strategies, and enhance skills that will serve them in the profession
of their choice
Sloan Semester Socials
Regular social activities focused on community building and networking between scholars
and University leadership.
STEM Outreach and Mentoring
Scholars particpate in STEM K-12/community college outreach and undergraduate mentoring
initiatives to inspire the next generation of scientists and enginers from historically
underserved backgrounds.
