About the Fellowship:
The Ann Winch Fellowship was established to encourage and enable mature students in their pursuit of a graduate degree, and to promote scholarship and leadership at the graduate level.

Application/Nomination Process:
Direct from the applicant, but an academic department may also nominate a student.

Selection Process:
A campus-wide faculty committee will rank the candidates and make recommendations.

Award Specifics:
Stipend: $1,000; non-renewable

Eligibility:
Enrolled as a Graduate Student at USF in good academic standing

Maintained a household or has been in the workforce

Proven track record of community service

Strong moral character and strong leadership capacity

Outstanding academic achievement

Demonstrated financial need

About the Fellowship:
The Delores Auzenne Fellowship provides academically talented new domestic doctoral students who contribute diversity in USF graduate programs with opportunities for funding and recognition. 

Application/Nomination Process:
There will be approximately 2 awards made each year. As part of the application package, the Department/School should provide a letter of support (not to exceed 500 words) that describes how this student meets the qualifications for receiving this Fellowship and why this student is a good fit for the Department. In addition, please provide the student's letter of intent or student essay from their application packet, as well as an unofficial transcript and test scores (if required).

Number of Nominations per Department:
Nominations must come from academic departments. Approximately two (2) Delores Auzenne Fellowships will be awarded each year. Individual departments should nominate their single best candidate for consideration. Multiple nominees from single departments or programs will not be considered.

Selection Process:
The Policy/Fellowship committee of the Graduate Council will review the candidates from each College and make the award selections.

Award Specifics:
Stipend: Doctoral students receive $12,000 per year for up to three (3) years, contingent upon available funding. This award would be used to supplement the Departmental award during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Tuition: Each award comes with a tuition waiver.

Eligibility:
Student is strongly encouraged to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Student must be a new, incoming doctoral student. A Bachelor's or Master's student from USF who is entering the doctoral program may be considered for this award.

The fellowship recipient must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its Trust Territories.

Recipients must be enrolled full time.

Recipients must be making satisfactory progress toward their degree in order to be eligible for funding in years 2-3.

Application/Nomination Process:

Direct from the doctoral candidate. A letter of recommendation from your major professor and 500 word description of the dissertation project. The student must be engaged full-time in the completion of the research and writing of the dissertation, including continued communication with the major professor/s. This Fellowship is not to be used for funding after a successful dissertation defense.

The description of the dissertation project should present an abstract of your research prospectus (not to exceed 500 words):

Purpose, Objective, and Rationale: This section should summarize your study accurately and concisely by explaining the overall purpose of the study and the research problem you intend to investigate.

Methods: Clearly and precisely describe your intended methodology and procedures and why you have selected these particular approaches. This should summarize the basic design of your study. Your study should follow the accepted paradigms, discourses, and current approaches in your field.

Major Findings: Specify how your work will contribute to your field of study, how it will answer your research questions, and the overall impact of your study in your academic area. Report any current findings already completed and clarify your remaining timeframe.

Timeframe: Specify the timeline in which your project will occur and develop time limits for individual components of your project.

Stipend: $10,000 for one semester (Fall, Spring, or Summer).

Tuition:
A tuition waiver and payment of student fees will be provided.
Health Insurance: USF Student Health Insurance will be provided for individual coverage for the duration of the award.

Eligibility:
Outside Employment: No Graduate Assistantships or other USF fellowships/scholarships or outside employment may be held during the award period.
Prior USF Fellowships: Students that have received 5-year fellowships are not eligible for these awards.

The Policy/Fellowship committee of the Graduate Council will review the candidates, rank the applications, and make the award selections.

Award Specifics:
Stipend: $12,000 per year, for up to two (2) years (contingent upon academic progress).
Tuition: This award carries a tuition waiver.

Eligibility:
Academically talented full-time doctoral students in areas specific to STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medical fields, including Psychology) who demonstrate financial need.

Note that USF's M.D. and Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) programs are not eligible for consideration for this fellowship.

Previous Genshaft Family Doctoral Fellowship winners are not eligible to reapply.

The fellowship recipient must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its Trust Territories.

The Graduate Student Success Fellowship provides financial assistance to new academically talented, first-generation doctoral students who demonstrate financial need and have overcome considerable obstacles and financial hardships in the pursuit of a doctoral degree.

As part of the application package, the Department/School should provide a letter of support (not to exceed 500 words) that describes how this student meets the qualifications for receiving this Fellowship and why this student is a good fit for the Department. In addition, please provide the student's letter of intent or student essay from their application packet, as well as an unofficial transcript and test scores (if required).

Public high school graduates.

Students pursuing graduate degrees in Education (particularly child development and special education disciplines), Nursing, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Criminology.

Upper age limit: 30 years.

Application/Nomination Process:
Departmental Nominations only. Students may not nominate themselves. Nominations are to be submitted by Department/School Graduate Program Directors.

Selection Process:
Nominations are evaluated and selected by the USF Graduate Council Policy/Fellowship Committee.

Award Specifics:
Stipend: $37,000 per year, plus tuition & fees, for up to five (5) years. (Contingent upon academic progress.)

Health Insurance: USF Student Health Insurance will be provided for individual coverage for the duration of the award.

Conference Travel: Up to $1,000 will be provided to support travel to research conferences where the fellow is presenting research.

Eligibility:
Available to new research doctoral students with exceptional academic credentials (ex. evidence of experience in the field; research productivity, awards, honors; and professional contributions and achievements to the field).

Students must not have taken or be taking classes at USF, degree or non-degree seeking, when nominated for this award.

Stipend: $20,000 per year (up to two years), plus a full-time tuition waiver & payment of student fees.
Health Insurance: USF Student Health Insurance will be provided for individual coverage for the duration of the award.

Conference Travel: Recipients will receive up to $600 each year of the fellowship to support attendance at a state, regional, national or international discipline-related academic conference in which the Fellow is presenting.

Eligibility:
Recipients must be enrolled full time in order to be eligible for this award. Individual departments may top off this award to make the stipend comparable to the other students in their department.

Must be already admitted to candidacy.

Demonstrated record of sustained progress toward the degree.

The proposed research must be in one of the USF signature research areas:

• Integrated Neurosciences
• Sustainability of populations and/or environment
• Diabetes and autoimmune disorders
• Drug Design and Delivery
