USF and NOAA to launch world-class cooperative ocean mapping center
The University of South Florida’s College of Marine Science has been awarded a five-year, $9 million cooperative agreement by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Coast Survey to launch the Center for Ocean Mapping and Innovative Technologies (COMIT).

Dr Karyna Rosario is based within the Marine Genomics Laboratory at the University of South Florida in the US. Her research, focusing on viral metagenomics, has led to the discovery of a novel indicator that helps detect harmful pathogens in wastewater. The findings will lead to safer lives for all of us.
