Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Graduate Fellowship
The Pickering Graduate Fellowship aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State in which they can help formulate, represent, and implement U.S. foreign policy. The Pickering Program selects outstanding Fellows annually in a highly competitive nationwide process and supports them through two years of graduate study, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities.
ELIGIBILITY
- U.S. Citizen
- Undergraduate student, graduate student, or alumni
- Minimum 3.2 GPA
- Planning to pursue a master's degree in a field related to the Foreign Service
IDEAL CANDIDATES
- Members of groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service - minority groups and students with high financial need
- International engagement (study abroad, public service work, etc.)
- Language study
TIMELINE
Application Deadline
Early September – for graduate programs beginning the following fall semester
