Xiaoxiao Li - A Business Model for Rosebud Continuum's Market Garden

Introduction:
Xiaoxiao Li, also known as Peggy, pursued her Master's degree in Global Sustainability at USF. She completed her capstone experience as a market garden intern at the Rosebud Continuum Sustainability Education Center, where she applied her sustainability knowledge and project management skills.

Location: Rosebud Continuum Sustainability Education Center (Tampa, FL)

Achievements:
Guided by her concentration director, Dr. Dorsey, and her supervisor, Valerie, Peggy developed a business model for the market garden aimed at generating stable revenue and supporting future projects. Her model also promotes community engagement through educational programs.Peggy used the Six Sigma DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) methodology to ensure a structured approach to the business model. She also conducted market research and engaged stakeholders to align the project with community needs.

Her work highlighted the role of regenerative agriculture in enhancing soil health and biodiversity. Despite some delays in implementation, Peggy's foundational work sets the stage for future success. Her efforts demonstrate how community-based agriculture can provide environmental, social, and economic benefits, empowering farmers and fostering a sustainable community. By sharing insights from her internship, Peggy hopes to inspire similar initiatives and create a ripple effect that extends beyond this community.
