TECO Clean Energy Research Center | University of South Florida

About Us

The University of South Florida's TECO Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) explores and develops environmentally clean energy systems. Key research projects include solar thermal power, photovoltaics, concentrating solar power, energy storage (phase change materials, thermal storage, batteries, and supercapacitors), photocatalytic detoxification/disinfection technologies, new efficient thermodynamic cycles; solar energy conversion and biomass conversion/biofuels.

Updates

Major Collaboration

Fifteen researchers from the University of New South Wales in Australia, the University of South Florida, and Florida Polytechnic University have been collaborating on how to make Thermochromic (TC) coatings and electrochromic (EC) windows more cost effective yet still able to withstand photo degradation since they are continuously exposed to sunlight.
