Our Approach

Academic Advocacy at the University of South Florida (USF) is designed for the purpose of being able to apply data analytics to identify real-time student need and connect students with the network of support services available at our institution. This case management approach is effective in maintaining support for students at all stages of their transition.

• We operate under the philosophy that barriers are created by the institution and society, and it is our job to help students find ways to be successful within this context.
• We view retention, persistence, progression, and graduation as holistic processes that begin when undergraduate students matriculate. 
• Our goal is to target the right students at the right time, work with them to get back on track, and to connect them with USF resources.
• We know we are successful when students progress and graduate in a timely manner.
