Air Force ROTC

Crosstown Students

The University of South Florida is the host university for Air Force ROTC in the Tampa area and has crosstown agreements with many other area schools. Students are required to attend ROTC at the University of South Florida campus while you take your academic classes at the crosstown school. Approximately 1/3 of the cadets at the 158th Cadet Wing attend crosstown schools. Students enrolled in the following colleges or universities can also become members of this program:

As of Fall 2024, students enrolled in any of the crosstown schools must apply and register as a non-degree seeking student at USF. The dates for these applications close much sooner than standard applications, typically around a month before classes begin. It is critical that students complete this application as soon as possible to ensure that there are no issues when attempting to register for the AFROTC courses.

Students will be charged the standard credit-hour rate per course from USF. This could be anywhere from 1-3 credits per semester of AFROTC, depending on your unique circumstances. Please refer to the section titled Curriculum on the left to see which courses you should be registered for. It is up to the student to ensure, in the event that financial aid cannot pay for the courses, that the USF tuition is paid for. Remaining balances at USF will block registration for the next semester until it is paid.

The student will be responsible for ensuring that grades for the AFROTC courses are provided to their host institution to be added to their official transcripts. The student is also responsible for ensuring that all of their courses are paid for each semester.
